Different swim programs
have different goals. Some want to recruit the superstars, some want the largest number of swimmers. At STAS we prefer swimmers that have a keen desire to become strong, technically superior swimmers. STAS succeeds by developing swimmers with technically correct strokes and by training for performance. And we succeed when our swimmers ultimately get recruited by colleges and universities. And they do. Swimming is technical and it takes time to build a quality stroke. Additionally, the swimmer needs the attention of the coach in sufficient quantity to learn each component of the stroke correctly. The best mid-teenage swimmers are rarely the young firecrackers seen in the early age groups. It is those that listen and develop over time that become the sought after swimmers of colleges and universities.
Take the time to visit. We encourage you to observe:
• The quality of the swimmer’s strokes
• The amount of attention each swimmer has from the coach
• The level of passion the coach has for technical execution.
• The coach’s ability to demand and the swimmers desire & ability
